Plaza de Santa Ana is a quintessential Madrid plaza surrounded by elegant facades and full of lively tapas bars and terrace cafes. The perfect place to sit in the open air with a glass of wine and watch the passers-by. Ernest Hemingway was a frequent visitor here. One of his favorite bars, Cervecería Alemana, which still serves their drinks on Plaza de Santa Ana, always kept a reserved table for Ernest.
